Christians Murdered And Burnt In Pakistan Over 'Blasphemy'

The angry Muslim crowd beat a
Christian couple to death and burnt their bodies in the brick stove
where they worked for supposedly dishonouring a Qur’anin Kot Radha Kishan, Pakistan, police have said.
Local police station official Bin Yameen said “A mob attacked a
Christian couple after blaming them of desecration of the holy Qur’an
and later burnt their bodies at a brick kiln where they worked”.
The victims were only identified as Shama and Shehzad, they were married.
The couple, aged between 30 and 35 years had three children while Shama was expecting a fourth child.
Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif has established a three-member committee to fast trail the inquiry of the killings and ordered police to raise security at Christian neighbourhoods in the province, an official from his media office said.
This attack is the latest case of violence against minorities suspected over blasphemy, a very sensitive subject and critics argue the rules are often misused to settle personal scores and that minorities are dishonestly marked.
Anyone imprisoned, or even just suspected, of insulting Islam, risks a violent and bloody death at the hands of vigilantes.
