The Atlantic Drilling Fluid Services Ltd has commence work at Nillo Dam in Kogi State.
According to Usman Musa, the Public
Relation Officer (PRO), Ministry of Water and Mineral Resources on
Tuesday in Lokoja, the Two Hundred and Fifty Million Naira
(N250,000,000) project is expected to provide portable drinking water
for the people of Aiyekunle Gbedde, Iyah Gbede and about Six other
neighbouring communities.
Speaking at the handing over of the
project site to the Contractor, Engr Olatunji Oshanisi, Kogi State
Commissioner for Water and Mineral Resources, charged the people of the
communities to ensure that the properties are adequately protected from
vandalization.
Olatunji urged the Consultancy
firm, John Solomon and Partner, to ensure that all the due process are
strictly followed so that the quality of water scheme can be guaranteed.
In his appreciation remark on behalf of
the communities, The Oba of Aiyegunle Gbede who spoke through a
Community leader, Chief Bammy Saliu commended the government of Governor
Idris Wada for deeming it fit to provide them with portable drinking
water.
He pledge the loyalty of his people to
the Government, promising to protect and guard the facilities provided
for their communities.
The Representative of the Contractor, David Mayowa promised that the company will do all its best to
ensure that the project is delivered within the stipulated period of Nine months.
